Job Purpose

American Honda Finance Center Service fuel the growth of the company by providing financing for Honda and Acura products. Each regional office has four distinct functions to service our customers and dealers: sales, credit, collections, and customer service.

As an Assistant Manager of the Dealer Service Credit department, you provide leadership to a team of supervisors and associates to ensure the smooth operation of AHFC's Originations department. You play a critical and highly visible role in the company's extension of credit and originations of loans and leases. You rely on your extensive lending experience and the expertise of your team to achieve operational and financial targets.



Key Accountabilities

  • Staff and manage all personnel and functions of the credit department including dealership financial services and consumer credit originations.
  • Dealership financial services products include floorplan lines of credit, working capital loans, dealership mortgages, construction loans, land acquisition loans and revolving lines of credit.
  • Managed personnel include three direct report supervisors. The department consists of a total staff of 35+ associates including credit buyers and contract funders.
  • Lead the department in its pursuit of achieving its key objectives including sales and product penetration targets, dealer satisfaction and optimizing profitable sustainable portfolio growth.
  • Recruit and train candidates for temporary and Honda positions beginning at the entry level to ensure retention and associate career development
  • Provide performance management, coaching and counseling to create continuous improvement and development among associates
  • Ensure regulatory and operational compliance
  • Adheres to appropriate Compliance policies and procedures



Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent work experience in the finance industry
  • Masters or MBA is a plus
  • 5 years of lending experience is required
  • 3 years of supervisory experience is required
  • Field sales experience is strongly preferred
  • Experience working within a call center environment strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational and planning skills
  • Customer service orientated
  • PC proficient in MS Windows environment (Word, Excel)
