29164BR Extended Job Title: Asst/Assoc/Full Professor-Vascular Org Level 1: Texas Tech Univ Health Sciences Ctr Org Level 7: 513301 - Surgery Dept Lbk Genl Position Description: The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Department of Surgery is seeking to recruit a Vascular Surgeon at the assistant or associate professor level, to become the third member of this growing division. The successful candidate must be BE/BC and Fellowship trained in Vascular Surgery. Up to date skills and knowledge across the entire spectrum of modern vascular surgery including endovascular, percutaneous interventional, minimally invasive and open vascular procedures for both elective and emergent indications in a Level 1 trauma center academic teaching hospital, as well as in the outpatient and clinic setting, are extremely important. Interpretation of non-invasive vascular studies is a must, therefore, at least an RPVI qualification is needed. The candidate should have exemplary clinical skills, a team spirit, collegiality and an interest in teaching general surgery residents and medical students, and scholarly activity. Provide medical record documentation in an accurate and timely manner. Provide necessary billing information as requested according to department and institutional guidelines. Oversee nursing staff, medical students, and resident physicians during patient interactions. Participate in active surgical research with medical students and resident physicians. Participate in hospital Vascular call coverage. Prepare and deliver lectures to medical students and resident physicians. Participate in all department conferences/meetings. Adhere to institutional and departmental safety policies and procedures.
