Title Associate Professor of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery or Above Specific Title Division Chief for Pediatric Otolaryngology Appointment Type Tenure Track Faculty Department IUSM - Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery Campus IU School of Medicine Indianapolis Position Summary Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) and Indiana University Health Physicians are recruiting a Division Chief for Pediatric Otolaryngology. The Division Chief will provide strategic and operational leadership across the full range of Division service areas, including the tripartite missions of the academic institution: clinical and administrative service, education, and research. This academic role in the Department of Otolaryngology at IUSM will work with and represent six faculty members and seven advanced practice providers covering Riley Hospital for Children at both its downtown Indianapolis and suburban Carmel locations. The division covers the spectrum of Pediatric Otolaryngology including an aerodigestive program/complex airway, sleep surgery, head and neck masses/congenital malformations, otology, a well-established cochlear implant program, rhinology, craniofacial center, laryngology, speech, and a vascular anomalies program. Responsibilities include participation in an active pediatric otolaryngology practice, teaching residents and medical students, and participating in scholarly activities. Expectations for the Division Chief include, but are not limited to, setting yearly academic goals, conducting annual reviews, involvement in graduate medical education, responsibilities for research activities, division financial performance, budget development, financial and division performance reporting, and collaboration with all other functional groups within the Department of Otolaryngology, IUHP, affiliated hospitals and physician groups. Basic Qualifications The candidate must have an MD or equivalent degree, will be a Board Certified Otolaryngologists and will be eligible for licensure in the State of Indiana. The candidate must have at least 5-10 years of outstanding accomplishments in the field of pediatric otolaryngology including a long history of publications, funded research grants, previous supervision of medical, residency and staff positions as well as responsibility for group/division/department financial performance. The candidate must have credentials that merit appointment as Professor or senior level Associate Professor, tenure track. Candidates must be fellowship trained in Pediatric Otolaryngology.
