Associate Professor, Water/Wastewater Treatment Apply now Job no: 494520 Work type: Full Time Faculty Location: Multiple Locations Categories: Faculty State Classification: Instructor Class Code: UG70 Job Description: Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is a two -year community/technical college that offers more than 75 associate degree, diploma, and certificate programs for students who are either seeking quick entry into the workforce or desiring to transfer to a senior institution to pursue a bachelor's degree. HGTC offers three convenient campus locations in South Carolina, including Myrtle Beach, Conway and Georgetown. Horry-Georgetown Technical College seeks a full-time Water/Wastewater Treatment instructor. The successful candidate will be required to teach Wastewater Treatment courses at any Horry-Georgetown Technical College campus location. The successful candidate will be accountable to the department chair for the fulfillment of his or her function, responsibilities, authority and relationships, and for their proper interpretation. This individual will be responsible for the following duties (this list is not intended to be exhaustive). Instructional planning, teaching, and learning; student recruitment, retention and advising. Assist in the maintenance of lab and classroom equipment. Help develop course content and materials in partnership with local municipality partners and employers. Work with Water Treatment program advisory board to maintain and enhance Water Treatment course offerings and program outcomes. Assist with scheduling, budgeting, and other duties; student advising, etc. Participate in available training to keep current in Wastewater Treatment. Instruct and evaluate students in a live work setting relevant to the course offering. Teaching duties include fundamentals and competencies relevant to Wastewater Treatment in lecture and lab settings. Advertised Salary: Salary is commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave. Minimum Requirements: Certificate degree in applicable major for Water Treatment. Level A license in Water Treatment, Biological Wastewater Treatment, Water Distribution, and Wastewater Collections. Three (3) years of teaching or training experience in the classroom or industry setting. Preferred Qualifications: Preferred: Associate degree in applicable major. 5 years' supervisory experience in industry and 5 years teaching experience at the post-secondary education level.
