Associate Principal

What You'll Do:

This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining agile and business systems data governance policies, procedures, and standards. The role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish governance metrics that support compliance with governance policies and guidelines.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily.

Work with a team to develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy aligned with company goals and objectives.

Support the Product Owner, especially with respect to story refinement and product backlog maintenance.

Act as a point of contact for stakeholders regarding the product backlog and product development

Elicit, interpret, lead requirement workshop discussions with stakeholders and/or product owners; assist in the development of backlog items and acceptance criteria.

Work with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure that they are reflected in the product backlog.

Assist and or directly facilitate product demo sessions to key stakeholders and business users.

Drive or coordinate preparation of presentation materials and reports.

Drive efforts to guide and coach delivery teams to self-organize and achieve objectives, without assigning or dictating the work

Contribute to a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised and resolved

Participate in and lead regular assessments of Agile Maturity and use the results to guide improved performance though product enhancements or reporting.

Drive internal and external communication, improving transparency, and information radiation

Proactively identify and mitigate risks using Agile best practices and project data

Required Good understanding of Agile product management methodologies, product lifecycle and product development processes.

Required Demonstrated experience and success with organizational process design and implementation

Required Understands backlog tracking, Scrum and Kanban based metrics

Preferred Experience in running demos and retrospectives

Required Demonstrate sound judgment and strong reasoning skills as well as good analytical and problem-solving abilities

Required Ability to review large amounts of data and analyze and spot trends and provide analysis and insights

Required Experience consolidating data from multiple data sources

Technical Skills:

Required Experience with Agile PLM tools like JIRA, Portfolio for JIRA, Rally, VersionOne, etc.

Required Proven ability to work with toolsets including, but not limited to Jira, MS Project, Microsoft Excel, Tableau, and PowerPoint

Required Basic understanding of IT infrastructure and IT systems design

Required Familiarity within a ticketing system such as ServiceNow

Education and/or Experience:

Required bachelor's degree in information technology or 4+ years equivalent work experience

Required Strong understanding of general Business Systems Governance

Preferred Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum principles and practices

Preferred 1+ year of experience with JIRA, Tableau or Alteryx

Required Ability to anticipate issues based on experience to help the team avoid or resolve the issues

Preferred Experience working in the financial services industry

Certificates or Licenses:

Preferred Scrum Master Certified preferred

Preferred ITIL Foundations certification preferred

Preferred PMP certified preferred
