RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as day-to-day coordinator on client accounts on a diverse roster of health accounts.
  • Coordinate and facilitate internal and client activities of the team, ensuring client teams are proactive and highly responsive to client needs by anticipating upcoming deliverables.
  • Craft and deliver persuasive messaging and related collateral materials (client one-pagers, talking points, policy position briefs, etc.) simplifying complex policy, legislative, regulatory, legal, or other general issues.Strong writing abilities are critical to success in this position.
  • Develop short- and long-term government relations plans and recommendations, identifying key stakeholders, policymakers, and audiences.
  • Maintain thorough understanding of the legislative process.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of evolving policy and political issues that impact clients' sectorsand a grasp of reporting trends.
  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis, performing issue management for clients across a wide range of topics.
  • Manage multiple projects, including task and deadline tracking, for multiple clients from concept to completion.
  • Work closely with Senior Associates, Associates, and interns, including reviewing and editing materials developed by junior staff.
  • Demonstrate strong client-relations skills - responsive, professional, and helpful.
  • Contribute to firm's new business process and efforts by drafting proposals and pitch decks, highlighting cross-disciplinary services.
  • Work with other FGS Global divisions to deliver integrated services (from strategic communications and advertising to content development and public opinion research).

ATTRIBUTES

  • A BA/BS degree in a related field and 4-6 years of relevant experience, preferably within the health policy sector.
  • Strong strategic thinker with understanding of how larger economic and public policy landscape impacts clients' business and needs. Ability to extrapolate impacts of policy decisions on client-specific issues.
  • Self-motivated professional with outstanding organizational skills.
  • Extremely strong writing and communications skills.
  • Superior research and editing skills; ability to synthesize information quickly into trends.
  • Detail-oriented and dynamic problem-solver with strong project management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple and diverse client needs.
  • A demonstrated capacity for leadership, communication, teamwork, and collegiality within a tight-knit team.
  • Experience with Veteran's Affairs health care is a plus.
