HCP focus areas: Tier 1 (Neuroscience), Tier 2 (BOTOX Therapeutics) + Enterprise HCP Data Strategy

The Associate Director HCP Media position plays a key role in delivering exceptional HCP media campaigns and is responsible for delivering best in class HCP paid media products. He/she partners with HCP marketing teams, as well as other functions, to determine customer insights, appropriate channels, media buying targets, media spend levels and appropriate metrics/KPIs for measurement.

The Associate Director HCP Media specifically determines for each brand: the media strategies, determines the right media channels, establishes media spending levels by channel, flighting strategies, communication levels and measurement by tactic. This position oversees all HCP media, from strategic planning, tactical planning, to execution and post buy due diligence. The role is responsible for delivering innovative HCP solutions to address key stakeholder needs, providing recommendations, implementing, and guiding team on improvement opportunities to continuously enhance HCP media output accounting for both portfolio (Migraine) and individual brands needs. He/she has a proven track record in talent management, being able to guide members of the team towards achieving objectives and successfully setting direction for self and others (including external agencies).

In addition to HCP paid media responsibilities, Associate Director HCP Media will lead HCP data strategy for the US Commercial Enterprise. He/she will be a critical partner driving cohesion of strategy and execution between Digital Lab Channel teams, MABI, BTS, Digital Media Optimization, and agency partners with a focus on quality and standardization of HCP media data across the enterprise. He/she is an influential subject matter expert that will mobilize resources (time, attention, funds) to drive action amongst several internal functions and own projects from inception to completion to ensure proper integration of HCP media data into various internal data lakes and dashboards to inform analysis, planning and optimization. Additionally, the candidate must have the innate ability to simplify the complex and bring others along to ensure alignment. He/she will guide the roadmap for the products and tools necessary to utilize HCP insights in real-time and improve in-house capabilities. Partners with PSM and MABI to create and enforce contractual language and terms within various legal data documents, such as FIA, MSA, SLA, to protect and enhance our HCP data.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Together with the Media Director, develop and champion a new organizational capability by operationalizing the new HCP media pillar including the vision, process/WoW internally and with the HCP media agencies, set the vision for brands HCP media strategy
  • Manage HCP media plans across various franchises, identify areas of opportunity for each brand, and cohesively and clearly set media strategy for multiple brands in the same category
  • Bring deep expertise in all HCP paid media channels (offline and online) and apply media learnings and best practices across the enterprise
  • Establish and achieve measurable media performance metrics
  • Responsible for managing franchise HCP media budgets and partnering with Marketing, Finance and MABI to develop HCP media plans including quickly developing scenarios based on budget fluctuations to help inform launch plans and business discussions with senior leaders
  • Lead and influence decision making across functions (Marketing, Analytics, Digital Lab) by developing data driven media strategies
  • Collaborate with Lab HCP Channel team to ensure data integration/passback are compliant and enable ABV to maximize impact to HCP target
  • Successfully build relationships with internal stakeholders within Marketing, Finance, Digital Lab and CA&O
  • Lead HCP media agencies to ensure successful launch and executions of all campaigns, drive innovation, and move the AbbVie businesses forward
  • Lead HCP Media Manager(s) including training, coaching and mentoring the
  • Challenge the status quo to advance AbbVies media presence and prepare for the future in the HCP space
  • Simplify complex concepts to influence and create organizational change that foster tangible business impact
  • Consistently improve processes, media product, drive effectiveness and efficiency to ensure best in class internal media operations as well as with our external media agencies
  • Represent ABV to external media partners to foster relationships that lead to first looks, added value and direct connection to resolve any issues quickly
  • Exhibit good business judgement and make sound business decisions

Qualifications
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor with 10+ years of paid media experience (primarily focused in HCP media) in both planning and negotiating media. Experience with paid media in the pharma industry and/or client-side experience is a plus
  • Expertise in translating business and marketing goals into media goals, strategies, tactics and provide recommendations to internal stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple media plans, vendors, projects, and internal stakeholders simultaneously, with high attention to detail and deadlines and compliance to departmental and Company processes
  • Extremely organized and proactive with the ability to collaborate in a fast-paced team environment
GENERAL COMPETENCIES
  • Demonstrated track record of acting with agility and speed in challenging business environment
  • Strong communication (both written and verbal) and business acumen
  • Expertise with Microsoft software tools, including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
  • Knowledge of third-party data sources like Nielsen, MARS, Kantar, and third-party tools like Media Tools. Ability to learn new software programs specific to the media industry. Knowledge of agency tools a plus.
  • Exceptional functional knowledge; is viewed as a Subject Matter Expert in paid media across all channels
  • Inquisitive with strong analytical skills, including the ability to infer and apply learnings
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and influence to ensure deliverables and deadlines are met
  • Strong Agency management, including the ability to delegate responsibility, manage work and priorities, provide coaching/mentoring/difficult feedback to ensure AbbVies high-quality standards are always met
