Job Summary

The Associate Director, Data Analysis and Research collects, organizes, and analyzes employment reporting data for over 1400 Evening and Weekend MBA students, and students matriculating in Booth's newest programs, Master in Management and Master in Finance. Additionally, the Associate Director performs data analysis assignments related to data manipulation, statistical applications, programming, analysis, and modeling to support projects.

Responsibilities

  • Applies analytical skills and methodologies to collect, audit, and synthesize student-provided employment data for the Evening MBA, Weekend MBA, Master in Management, and Master in Finance programs. Cleans, audits, and reviews data to ensure accuracy and compliance with reporting standards.
  • Updates web, print, and presentation materials with yearly employment reporting statistics. Maintains and seeks ways to continually improve the data collection process, including email outreach, survey design, and data auditing. Shares data valuable to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Utilizes databases, online survey tools, and Excel to provide ongoing and one-time reports that evaluate programming, monitor student progress, event participation, and student engagement.
  • Collects and analyzes recruitment and other relevant data to provide strategic support and direction for programming and operations. Conducts regular job postings and campus recruiting analysis, identifying and communicating trends to the team.
  • Manages and maintains contact information for recruiters and corporate partners in the Career Services database per Booth Email Governance Council and GDPR standards. Ensures the integrity of data. Maintains and updates company and contact ownership.
  • Uses third-party databases such as S&P Capital IQ to research and assess companies. Analyzes the characteristics of the organizations and classifies them appropriately in the database. Enters data related to companies into the networked databases. Analyzes the data export of the organizations and document summary findings. Coordinates data changes with other departments at Chicago Booth, ensuring data integrity and avoiding data redundancy.
  • Analyzes moderately complex data sets to extract and purposefully use applicable information.
  • Provides professional support to staff or faculty members in defining the project and applying principles of data science in manipulation, statistical applications, programming, analysis, and modeling.
  • Has a deep understanding of methods to analyze complex data sets for the purpose of extracting and purposefully using applicable information. May develop and maintain infrastructure that connects data sets.
  • Guides staff or faculty members in defining the project and applies principals of data science in manipulation, statistical applications, programming, analysis and modeling.
  • Performs other related work as needed.


Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.


Work Experience:

Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline.


Certifications:

Experience:

  • Working in higher education.

Technical Skills or Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), including database familiarity.
  • Familiarity with relational database reporting, such as Business Objects Web Intelligence, and CRM systems.

Working Conditions

  • This role will require in-person presence a minimum of three days per week, although more in-person engagement may be required during peak times.
