Posting Details Position Information Posting Number Position Title Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Dentistry State Wisconsin Employment Status Full Time Position Status Regular If Limited Term (End Date of Assignment, Project, or Grant) Position Type Faculty Job Family Faculty Position Overview The School of Dentistry seeks an innovative and energetic individual with strong leadership and managerial skills to assist the School of Dentistry with ongoing curriculum development and management, educational program quality assessment and improvement, academic support for the faculty with regards to academic affairs, and the facilitation of a humanistic and inclusive learning environment for a diverse student body. Applications will be considered until the position is filled. Salary and rank commensurate with experience and qualifications. Opportunities for clinical practice and/or research are available and encouraged. Duties and Responsibilities Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide administrative leadership for the ongoing development, implementation, and management of the D.D.S curriculum. In collaboration with the Dean, provide leadership and support for the staff in the Office of Student Success and Practice Transitions, the Office of Educational Outcomes and Assessment, and the Office of Dental Admissions. Ensure that all programs are in ongoing compliance with current accreditation standards. Lead the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) self-study process. Develop and disseminate course schedules and examination schedules. Promote academic initiatives (inter-professional education, curriculum innovation) in coordination and collaboration with the Director of Inter-Professional Education (IPE). Provide oversight and coordination of program planning and program assessment, curriculum development, and academic policy development. Implement and manage the academic policies in collaboration with the Dean and other members of the Administrative Council. Work collaboratively with the Department Chairs and Program Directors to support the School of Dentistry mission, strategic priorities, and faculty development. Work collaboratively with the Office of the Registrar, Office of the General Counsel, Office of the Bursar, and other university offices as necessary Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Qualified applicants must have: A DMD/DDS degree from a US or Canadian dental school recognized by the ADA Commission on Dental Accreditation or a comparable foreign degree. A valid dental license in some state or jurisdiction and be eligible for a regular license or faculty license in the State of Wisconsin. Strong leadership skills, a record of administrative achievements demonstrating interpersonal skills, management expertise, teaching experience, experience with dental accreditation, and a working knowledge of curriculum planning and management. Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities PhD or equivalent doctorate degree preferred.
