This state-wide practice concentrates in the areas of mediation and alternative dispute resolution, workers compensation, and personal injury liability defense, focusing in the areas of automobile liability, premises liability, malpractice, and nursing home liability.

Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate Attorney to join our dynamic legal team in the insurance industry. As a leading firm in the field, we specialize in Insurance Defense, PIP (Personal Injury Protection), and First Party Property cases. This is a permanent position that offers excellent growth opportunities. Candidates should have experience taking depositions, attending hearings and mediations, and reporting to and evaluating cases for clients. Civil trial experience a plus.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct legal research and analysis on insurance defense cases, PIP claims, and first-party property disputes.
2. Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents for court proceedings.
3. Represent clients in hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
4. Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners to develop case strategies and provide legal advice.
5. Conduct discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission.
6. Prepare witnesses for depositions and trial testimony.
7. Attend and participate in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
8. Stay updated on changes in insurance laws, regulations, and industry practices.
9. Manage a caseload and ensure all deadlines are met.
10. Maintain accurate and detailed case files and documentation.

Qualifications:

1. Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Active license to practice law in the state of Florida.
3. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in insurance defense
4. Strong knowledge of insurance laws, regulations, and industry practices.
5. Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
6. Ability to analyze complex legal issues and develop effective strategies.
7. Experience with drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
8. Proven ability to work independently and manage a caseload.
9. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
10. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.
