Job Details

We are hiring a litigation attorney to join our team. This candidate must reside in Maine and hold an active license to practice in the state. This is a remote work from home position that is responsible for providing effective and thorough case evaluation, predominately for vehicle damage claims involving negligence and/or breach of contract, on behalf of rental car companies, and insurance subrogation cases. The Associate Attorney will predominately work a docket of cases in pre-trial and active litigation. The ideal candidate should be able to work autonomously with limited supervision, be comfortable managing a high-volume caseload, and have the ability to work a case from acceptance through to trial/settlement. Excellent organization and time-management skills are necessary in order to meet strict court deadlines. A J.D. from an accredited law school is required, as well as being active and in good standing in the state of Maine.

Education/Experience:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice law in the state where the position is located
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on civil litigation
  • Strong knowledge of legal principles, procedures, and practices related to litigation
  • Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
  • Proficiency in using legal research tools such as Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis
  • Ability to analyze complex legal issues and develop effective strategies
  • Strong negotiation skills to achieve favorable outcomes for clients
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
