The AVP of Perioperative Services will assist the EVP/COO with strategic planning, quality management, performance improvement, increasing patient satisfaction, core measures, fiscal management, and staff development programs. The AVP of Perioperative Services will be a strategic contributor to the long term planning and business growth of the organization. Using the principles of Transformational Leadership and Structural Empowerment, the AVP of Perioperative Services coordinates activities within specific nursing areas to ensure processes are in place that promote quality care to all patients and efficient operation of the nursing departments specific to surgical populations. The AVP is recognized as a professional role model and promotes a professional environment that supports continuous learning, patient and worker safety. In addition, this leader supports and engages all staff to influence the overall patient experience. This is accomplished by direct involvement, appropriate delegation, coaching and support of unit-based shared governance councils. The AVP is responsible and accountable for the delivery of safe, effective, direct and indirect patient centered care through the continuum of perioperative care to include the Pre-op/special procedures/OP care, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Surgery, Sterile Processing Department, Anesthesia and Perioperative business functions. Qualifications: Minimum of eight year supervisory or progressive management experience required. Masters degree required. MBA, MHA or MSN. If an RN then a minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Nursing with an additional advanced degree such as MBA or MHA is required. Also CNOR and Certification in Nurse Executive, Advanced, or ability to obtain within 24 months required. Excellent written and verbal skills required. Strong organizational skills required. If an RN then current License as RN in South Carolina required. Computer skills including power point, word and excel required.
