Title: Assistant Project Manager/Project Engineer - Marine Construction

Location: Port St Lucie Stuart area

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Project Manager/Project Engineer to join our marine construction team. The ideal candidate will have a background in heavy civil construction, with specific experience in marine projects such as floating docks, bulkheads, fixed docks, marinas, rip rap, boat ramps, piling, and water control structures. As an integral part of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the successful completion of various marine construction projects from inception to completion.

Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning and Coordination:
    • Assist in project planning, scheduling, and coordination of resources, including labor, materials, and equipment.
    • Work closely with the project manager to develop detailed project plans and timelines.
  • Engineering Support:
    • Provide technical support in the design and engineering aspects of marine construction projects.
    • Review project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Construction Oversight:
    • Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
    • Conduct site visits and inspections to assess progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Budgeting and Cost Control:
    • Assist in budget preparation and cost estimation for marine construction projects.
    • Monitor project costs and expenditures, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    • Serve as a point of contact for clients, subcontractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
    • Communicate project updates, milestones, and issues to stakeholders in a clear and timely manner.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations on construction sites.
    • Conduct regular safety inspections and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.

  • Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with a focus on marine projects.
    • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and techniques used in marine construction.
    • Proficiency in project management software, such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
    • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and permitting processes for marine construction projects.
