Assistant Project Manager This position will work under the direction of the Department Supervisor to perform pivotal functions in a challenging machine safety-oriented workplace. The main objective is to develop automation and safety projects from concept to fruition using industry accepted practices. Responsibilities: Work with department supervisors or project manager to develop project plans consisting of budget, design, timeline, resources, materials/hardware, BOM's, test forms, and other project documentation Review bid/spec plans and create estimates and proposal letters Write safety functionality scopes/RFQs Select appropriate hardware and instrumentation for application Provide technical support for field operations and sales operations Use creativity and work with engineering team to develop concepts into plans. Work with production team and field team to develop plans into deliverables. Develop quality control programs to ensure deliverables meet customer expectations. Organize and manage project documentation and provide quotes and scopes of work to customers. Assist in coordination of projects with engineering and production teams Up to 20% field work (Some overnight travel may be required) Installs Project Management Assist with validations or risk assessments Knowledge and Skill Abilities: Positive safety attitude and personal integrity Must be able to work independently and meet deadlines. Work on multiple jobs simultaneously and fulfil all job requirements within a timely fashion. Desire to learn and grow personally and professionally Knowledge of PLCs, and machine based safety hardware and instruments Understanding of automation and robotics Qualifications and Requirements: Communication skills and technical writing skills Friendly, professional demeanor Ability to follow through on tasks and work independently Ability to effectively use Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook Two year technical/college degree preferred but not required At least 4 years in the industry (Automation/Robotics/Machine Safety). Background in machine safety is desired Ability to work in the field up to 30% of the time Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
