Assistant Professor of Biochemistry

Summary: Alabama A&M University invites applications for a full-time (9-month) position as Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, in the area of Chemistry with emphasis in Biochemistry. The rank and tenure-status of the position is negotiable based on qualifications Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Teach Biochemistry and other related courses In addition to research in standard biochemistry instrumentation, engage actively in the use/research of such instrumentation as UV-V, FT-IR, GC, GC/MS, HPLC, and/or NMR. Mentor and advice students. Assist in enhancing the current curriculum. Minimum Position Requirements (including certifications, licenses, etc.): Ph.D. in Chemistry with emphasis in Biochemistry Must have 3-5 years demonstrated excellence in teaching, research and services Exposure to Forensic chemistry and postdoctoral experience are added advantage Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge in curriculum development for lectures and lab courses.
