Assistant Professor of Biochemistry Presbyterian College Location: Clinton, South Carolina Job Description Summary: The Presbyterian College Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor level starting in August 2023. We are seeking a highly qualified individual with specific expertise in biochemistry. Successful candidates will hold a PhD in Biochemistry and demonstrate commitment to pursuing excellence in science teaching within a liberal arts curriculum. Teaching responsibilities will include biochemistry I and II lecture and laboratory, contribution to the introductory chemistry sequence, and upper-level elective courses as needed. Candidates are expected to develop an active undergraduate research program within a teacher-scholar framework. The candidate will have the opportunity to be supported by the College's NIH-funded South Carolina-INBRE research program and pursue other external funding. Additionally, the candidate will participate in the direction of our American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB) accredited Biochemistry Major in conjunction with our Biology Department.
