Eastern Connecticut State University, Department of Health Sciences & Nursing is seeking a full-time, 10-month, Nursing Tenure Track Professor. The Health Sciences and Nursing department is seeking a nursing professional who aligns with our mission to educate and cultivate accountable, ethical, and diverse future health professionals through outstanding experiential liberal arts education, service, research, and scholarly activities to address the evolving societal health needs in the community. The ideal candidate will encourage students to pursue innovative ways to advance nursing practice and contribute to the creation of a center of excellence for baccalaureate-prepared nurses through a supportive and collaborative learning environment. Our teaching opportunities are primarily in Fundamentals, Adult Health, Pediatrics, Maternal-Infant Health, Psychiatric Nursing, Geriatrics, and Evidence-Based Research. Faculty Members also serve the department through curriculum development, nursing and health science research, program and student evaluation, academic advising, participation in professional service activities, and clinical/laboratory teaching. Duties And Responsibilities: Collaborates in developing, evaluating, and revising specific nursing undergraduate track curriculum, including yearly curriculum review and preparation of annual reports. Assists in the review of applications of incoming undergraduate students. Advises nursing students on their education and clinical tracks. Conducts evaluations of individual students' clinical or laboratory performance. Teaches didactic content in the RN BSN Program. Facilitate clinical experience in clinical settings and simulation labs. Collaborates with faculty to provide consistent and relevant student learning experiences to meet the course and clinical learning outcomes. Completes a midterm and final evaluation for each student. Engages in scholarly activities and contributes to research within the discipline of nursing practice. Participates in University and community service activities that are consistent with the mission of the university. Participates in commencement and nursing pinning activities. Participates in nursing professional development to remain current with nursing practice and healthcare trends. Participates in department and University committees and contributes to student retention Demonstrate a commitment to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, and work in an environment in which all members of the University community are treated with respect and dignity. Assist in updating Nursing Student Handbook as indicated. Qualifications: All applicants must possess a current nursing licensure in the State of CT by the date of hire. All applicants must have an advanced degree in Nursing (MS, DNP, or Ph.D.). A doctorate in a related field is acceptable if an applicant has an MS in Nursing. Five years of clinical practice experience in the relevant clinical area. Previous teaching experience in an institution of higher education. Excellent communication and collaboration skills along with interpersonal relationship strategies. Demonstrated ability to contribute through scholarship, teaching, and/or public engagement to the diversity and excellence of the learning experience. Completion of required health indicators (MMR titers, TB status, Hepatitis B, and others as required by clinical agencies) and CPR at the time of employment. Experience with integrating technology into instruction and/or conducting online instruction. Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate in Nursing. (Ph.D.) Record of scholarly productivity. Clinical Nurse Educator or postgraduate health professions teaching certificate. A proven record of excellence in teaching. A deep commitment to promoting diversity through academic and research programs. Programmatic management and planning experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to contribute through research, teaching, and/or public engagement to the diversity and excellence of the learning experience.
