Job Description: The Undergraduate Program in Public Health & Wellness at Curry College is seeking applications for the position of Assistant Professor to begin in August, 2024. The candidate is expected to teach a variety of courses including Personal Health, Senior Seminar in Public Health, Community Health and coursework with a focus on Social Justice in Public Health as well as foundational courses in Public Health. We seek an engaging educator who can connect theory with practice in Public Health, who has a background and experience in working with undergraduate students in the areas of internship support, academic and career advising. Candidates with expertise in reproductive health, cultural health, cultural competency, and a strong understanding of the challenges of marginalized populations are encouraged to apply for this position. Candidates should have a background and experience in working with undergraduate students in traditional face-to-face classroom settings, with a strong expertise in using a Learning Management System to support classroom pedagogy. The ideal candidate will have experience working with a diverse student population and possess the ability to scaffold course content. Candidates are expected to be an active contributor to the service of the department and to content areas in the department, depending on their area(s) of expertise. Demonstration of a professional and collegial work style which is conducive to an active and professional environment is expected. Only candidates who have completed their doctoral degree in Public Health, Reproductive Health, Community Health, Epidemiology or related field by the start date will be considered for the position. A background and experience with collaboration in different communities for public health initiatives is strongly preferred.
