ANNOUNCEMENT OF FACULTY VACANCY Assistant Professor in Health and Wellness Promotion Maryville College, a selective four-year liberal arts college committed to superior teaching, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in Health and Wellness Promotion beginning August 2024.The successful candidate will be a motivated and collaborative faculty member who will teach, mentor, and advise undergraduate students in the Health Science and Outdoor Studies division. Teaching responsibilities will include courses related to community health, physical activity, and chronic disease, population health and disease, wellness, and research methods in physical activity. The successful candidate will supervise senior study projects and serve on departmental and college committees. Commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching is essential. Applicants must hold a doctorate from an accredited institution in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related field with an emphasis in physical activity epidemiology. Applicants should have at least one year of undergraduate teaching experience. Founded in 1819, Maryville College is one of the South's oldest baccalaureate-granting institutions of higher learning. Consistently ranked in the top tier of Southern colleges in national magazines, the College is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA). The curriculum is notable for its Senior Study research requirement and strong liberal arts core program incorporating career exploration and preparation. The student body of about 1100 is drawn mostly from the Southeast, Middle Atlantic States, and the Midwest.
