We actively seek faculty members who are able to provide coursework in the areas of exercise science, public health and exercise and public health education who wish to secure training in and credentials for areas within exercise science and public health. We desire faculty who provide practical instruction in an engaging learning environment and enhance the learning experience of our students. The Assistant Professor is responsible for teaching courses of the highest quality through University of the Cumberland's Blackboard and in-person environment. Opportunities are also available for online courses. Areas of course instruction may include exercise science, exercise promotion, exercise education, anatomy and physiology, health promotion, health education, community and environmental health, substance abuse, relationships and human behavior, public health administration, and epidemiology to name a few. Responsibilities include: Teach at the bachelor's level in topics including exercise science, exercise promotion, exercise education, anatomy and physiology, health promotion, health education, community and environmental health, substance abuse, relationships and human behavior, public health administration, and epidemiology. Work collaboratively and successfully with colleagues and other university faculty members Other duties as may be assigned Available Date: Immediately Requirements Minimum qualifications include an earned graduate degree in Public Health or a closely related field from an accredited institution of higher education and American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), or National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and National Association for Health Education Credentialing (NCHEC) Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) or Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES). Additional certifications highly desirable. Experience in Online and In-Person Instruction Proof of ability to work in the U.S. Benefits Full-time benefits are provided, and compensation is commensurate with experience.
