Job Purpose
The Assistant Manager, Manufacturing position develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, shop floor technicians, materials, parts, tooling and production equipment capabilities while meeting quality control standards.
Key Accountabilities
- Manages talent development, coaches, and develops high performance teams.
- Provides visionary leadership through communication and knowledge transfer.
- Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, materials, parts, tooling, and production equipment capabilities while meeting quality control standards.
- Analyzes work requirements and outlines the schedules and methods to be followed for efficiency and safety.
- Plans, develops, coordinates, assigns and directs medium production teams and processes.
- Leads the development, evaluation, and improvement of manufacturing methods.
- Estimates staffing requirements and related costs. Confers with management and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, etc. to facilitate production processes.
- Analyzes and plans work force utilization through continuous improvement concepts.
- Enforces all Company rules, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Prepares and manages correspondences, reports, and documents related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, morale and environmental.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 14 years experience in manufacturing aerospace industry.
- A&P and/or other related licensure strongly preferred.

Working Conditions
- Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors.
- Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
- Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federal regulations, etc.).
- Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
- Comprehend and adhere to management directions and/or safety instructions with no restrictions.
- Effectively communicate in Business English language.
- Pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 10 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance, as required by job duties.
- Pull, push, carry, lift or move materials/people/items/equipment weighing up to 50lbs or more during the work shift, with the use of Company provided "reach assistance technology" or "movement assist technology" (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly's, robotics reach equipment, people movers etc.), as required by job duties.
