Responsibilities will include teaching at the undergraduate level, advising students and assisting in the development and execution of strategic initiatives for the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences, the Human and Social Sciences Department and the University. Education: PhD or terminal degree in related field preferred. Candidates who have earned a Master's degree and who agree to pursue a terminal degree will be considered. Teaching and Relationships: Evidence of excellence in teaching, preferably at the community college or university level. Desire to develop professional relationships with students in which the faculty member is seen as an instructor, mentor and advisor. Faith: A candidate who is an active Christian is required. Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod membership preferred. Responsibilities: Teach a broad range of courses in psychology and behavioral sciences as well as the introductory general education. Courses taught may include Introductory Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Research Methods, Social Psychology, Child Psychology, Adolescent Psychology, Applied Research, Abnormal Psychology, Personality Theory, Capstone Seminar. Engage in both College of Education, Health and Human Sciences and departmental planning, course and program assessment, curriculum development, student advising and assistance with student recruitment and activities. Support the growth of the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences and department through innovative ideas and leadership experiences. Demonstrate a willingness to enthusiastically embrace the mission and vision of Concordia University, Nebraska. Remain current in content areas of teaching responsibilities. Work with colleagues from multiple departments in service to the university. Qualifications: Doctoral degree in psychology (ABD considered) Demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence at all levels Successful college teaching experience Demonstrated interest and proven ability in innovative curriculum development and effective assessment of courses and programs Experience with online formats desired Commitment to Concordia University, Nebraska's mission of Lutheran higher education required; Member of a Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod preferred.
