Assistant Financial Controller

Golden Nugget - Las Vegas, NV

It is the responsibility of the Assistant Controller - Finance to oversee and administer all aspects and functionality of the General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Payroll departments. In addition, the Assistant Controller - Finance must maintain and compile financial accounting information .

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the month-end closing of the Accounting records.
Review supporting documentation for balance sheet accounts.
Review all tax returns submitted to governmental agencies.
Direct and supervise the following departments: Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Payroll.
Review and sign checks.
Assist in the development of monthly and annual budgets.
Accomplish non-recurring projects assigned by the Controller.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ability to manage employees, training and coaching skills with evidence of developing exceptionally motivated teams
Excellent analytical, problem solving, administrative, multi-tasking, organization and prioritization skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), fluent English.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Ability to work efficiently, independently and cohesively, consistently producing quality results
Computer literate in Microsoft Windows applications required
Prior knowledge of financial accounting systems, Oracle preferred.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related degree preferred
5 years experience.
Minimum age requirement is 21
