The Assistant Director of the Center for Excellence will manage the development and design of professional learning experiences and support course design projects across the University. Responsibilities Lead, manage, and coordinate instructional design projects for corporate training, professional education, and graduate and undergraduate programs, engaging subject matter experts in course design and development for all modalities. Assess, design, develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate programs that support University objectives and align with the University's goals. Apply competency models, skill frameworks, and modern solution methodologies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and participant development needs, to corporate training and professional education programs. Ensure alignment of learning objectives with training outcomes, course objectives, and program outcomes. Design and identify recommendations for course elements, including interactive technologies, multimedia integration, course activities and materials, and capstone projects. Provide trainer and faculty support, including assessment of learner performance and engagement, to continuously improve and enhance course content and delivery. Support faculty in the revision and maintenance of developed courses. Ensure application of universal design across modalities and course types for development of engaging, accessible experiences for diverse learners. Research and recommend educational best practices, instructional resources, and instructional technologies to support teaching and learning across the University. Contribute to faculty and facilitator training, professional development, instructional design, and other teaching and learning projects as assigned. Complete other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required: Master's degree in Instructional Design or related field Advanced knowledge of instructional design, adult learning theories, and instructional technologies A minimum of five years of corporate training development and/or delivery Advanced interpersonal and written communication skills Comprehensive technical knowledge and experience in a variety of educational technologies Preferred: Doctorate in Instructional Design, Curriculum and Instruction, or related field Certification in Quality Matters (QM) and/or Online Learning Consortium (Sloan C) Undergraduate and graduate course development experience Experience with learning analytics A minimum of three years of experience using Blackboard
