Job Summary We are searching for an Assistant Director of Pharmacy - someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will be responsible for the overall operation and quality of pharmacy services, including administrative, clinical, distributive, and technical activities of the department and to oversee and ensure an effective and safe medication use process. Responsibilities Provides administrative direction for Pharmacy to include ensuring that all legal and regulatory requirements are met through the creation and implementation of appropriate policies and procedures Provides clinical direction and support for Pharmacy to include but not limited to ongoing clinical initiatives with respect to the medication usage process and performance improvement Provides the appropriate level of pharmaceutical care services to patients of the facility by overseeing the medication use process, people, and systems. In addition, ensures continuous reviews for the safety and efficiency of departmental processes Develops leadership skills and provides leadership development opportunities for staff. Establishes priorities and educates the staff on critical success factors for the department Qualifications Bachelor's degree or Ph.D. in Pharmacy required RPH required 5 years pharmacy work or pharmacy residency experience required 2 years formal management experience required A Master's degree in Pharmacy Administration, Business Administration, Public Health or related healthcare field with the completion of a two-year pharmacy residency program may substitute for four years of the required pharmacy work experience (including the two years of pharmacy management/leadership experience) Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children's unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.
