Job Posting Title: Assistant Director of Development, Institutional Priorities, Outreach and Events, Dell Medical School Hiring Department: Dell Medical School Position Open To: All Applicants Weekly Scheduled Hours: 40 FLSA Status: Exempt Earliest Start Date: Immediately Position Duration: Expected to Continue Location: UT MAIN CAMPUS Job Details: Purpose Professionally plan, manage and/or assist with key institutional-level in-person, virtual and hybrid events as assigned with a high level of detail, a unique donor-focused experience, and in accordance with the Dell Med brand. Examples include, but not limited to: Lectureships, Grand Rounds, White Coat Ceremony, salon dinners, annual donor events, campaign events, commencement, major and principal gift prospect events. Manage and track budgets for assigned events, Coordinate contracts in accordance with Dell Med and UT policy, Recommend, arrange and prepare speakers as needed, Negotiate pricing with hotels, venues, caterers and other vendors, Maintain and cultivate vendor relationships, Manage event staffing and onsite event logistics, May include speaker and sponsor recruitment. Reporting post-event to measure event ROI. Manage event staffing and onsite event logistics, May include speaker and sponsor recruitment. Reporting post-event to measure event ROI. Lead the event vision for Dell Med Society events, working collaboratively with the Senior Associate Director of Development Annual Giving to align events with member interest and preferences and to advance membership and fundraising goals. Manage event and project deadlines using project management system to manage multiple priorities. Other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree and three years of direct events management experience. Proven success in executing strategic events with a focus on stewarding and cultivating gifts from individual donors, foundations, and corporations. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Proven abilities in managing and stewarding key internal and external partnerships. Experience supporting senior administrators, faculty, and gift officers. Experience in project management and proven event management skills for in-person, virtual and hybrid events. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively, work well under pressure, and manage details of several concurrent events with impeccable sense of detail. Experience using reporting tools and project management systems. Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications Passion for health care. Five years of direct events management experience. One to two years of experience managing direct reports or teams. Experience in academic, medicine, science, and health care events. Two to three years of development experience. Experience with fundraising databases or other prospective donor relations systems, e.g. Raiser's Edge, Sales Force, etc. Problem solver. Proven self-starter capable of making sound, ethical, independent judgments. Personal and professional confidence, accompanied by a sense of humor and empathy toward others. Salary Range $60,000 + depending on qualifications Working Conditions May work around standard office conditions. May work in all weather conditions. Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation. Use of manual dexterity. Climbing of stairs. Climbing of ladders. Lifting and moving. Occasional weekend, overtime and evening work to meet deadlines. Field work as necessary.
