Job Summary: Reporting to the Head of Project Management, the Assistant Construction Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of large scale, solar and battery storage projects. Responsibilities also include scheduling projects, material shipments, surveys and compliance of solar projects as assigned by the Construction Manager or Head of Project Management. Responsibilities/Duties: Have a sound understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and practices applicable to the design, layout, and supervision of construction operations. Monitor day to day progress to ensure the project is on schedule and within quality and cost estimates and any change management processes are well understood and followed. Align with the integrated project team structure to support project execution, to internally manage and deliver project management and construction activities and reporting. Coordinate, oversee and manage the delivery team, site staff, contractors, and physical resources (internal and external) to achieve targets. Establish, maintain, and control construction budget and cost control and construction progress in accordance with schedule. Develop the project execution plan (PEP) and with the engineers, design the construction schedule, contracting strategy and work through the detailed planning for commissioning and operational readiness. Understand all infrastructure constraints and seek out and implement faster and better ways to deliver the project. Work with site-based teams to identify areas with highest needs for improvement and explore the broader market for technically innovative solutions. Drive a culture of innovation that advances best-in-class EPC costs and maximizes plant production and minimizes energy cost. Effectively integrate plant design, cost estimating, and technology selection to optimize EPC costs and project performance; work closely with the Development team to ensure project development decisions integrate and drive down EPC costs. Minimum Qualifications Legally authorized to work in the US for any employer. Valid US Driver's License Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Construction / Project Management, or equivalent years of experience in related area. 0 - 2 years construction experience on energy related projects Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated ability in managing projects: installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Previous experience working with supplier, partner, client, or customers in an operational capacity. 0 - 2 years construction experience on energy related projects Ability to conduct regular Reliability, Accessibility, Maintainability, Buildability and Operability Reviews and provide feedback to engineering/study teams. Understanding and awareness of site safety requirements by OSHA An ability to quickly get across the detail, when required, to develop understanding on issues. Ability to work productively with limited supervision. Strong interest in renewable energy. Ability to work overtime as needed.
