Job Summary:

Propel Schools is seeking an Assistant Athletic Director to join our amazing team. The Assistant Athletic Director will support the Athletic Department with administrative tasks in the district wide management of its interscholastic athletic program. This is a year round position that works some nights and weekends.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Compensation: Propel provides a competitive salary for the Assistant Athletic Director. Relevant prior work experience will be considered when determining placement within our salary range.
  • Relocation Allowance: A relocation allowance for new hires moving to the area from 90 miles away or further.
  • Health Insurance: Medical, dental, and vision plan options at a low cost for individual employees and families.
  • Retirement: New hires participate in a 403(b); Propel contributes 5% automatically and matches up to 4%. This increases after 5 years.
  • Paid Leave: In addition to 16-19 paid holidays annually, the Assistant Athletic Director will receive 5 sick days and 10 Personal Days. The Assistant Athletic Director will also accrue 6 hours of vacation time per pay period.
  • Tuition Assistance: Reimbursement of up to $3,000 annually upon completion of course and receipt of grades for coursework that meets our eligibility requirements.
  • Wellness Benefit: Reimbursement of $20 per month for wellness activities including Gym Memberships, health programs, etc. Additionally, staff have the ability to earn up to $300 for participation in a Wellness Program each year.
  • Professional Development: At Propel, we believe in supporting staff growth and provide substantial school-based and network-wide professional development support for all staff. The Assistant Athletic Director will participate in Professional Development throughout the school year.
  • Leadership & Career Development: Leadership opportunities are extensive at Propel, both in and outside of the classroom. There are opportunities for additional school-based leadership roles.

Key Job Elements:

  • Manage the completion and collection of required entry forms and associate fees.
  • Conduct sports interest meetings.
  • Set-up and break-down for home games and athletic events.
  • Act as an escort to game officials and opposing teams.
  • Support with crowd control and game transitions.
  • Assisting the Athletic Director and Athletic Specialist with reporting event scores.
  • Manage time clocks and ensure point accuracy.
  • Coordinating with our faculty and staff "early dismissals" for students needing to leave school early to attend athletic events or complete registration.
  • Assist with middle school game management.
  • Assist with with star scheduling and roster submissions
  • Manage sports physical days.
  • Assist with coordinating team transportation, which includes driving shuttle vans.
  • Responsible for van maintenance as it is related to athletics.
  • Maintains records and documents as required and necessary to ensure proper documentation of athletic program activities, events, participation, and related information for the purpose of complying with school policies as well as applicable laws and regulations.
  • Responsible to carry out all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • First Aid, Safety, & CPR.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must possess a general knowledge of coaching techniques and skills.
  • Must possess knowledge of rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of each sport.
  • High level of personal organization and planning.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills with student-athletes, coaches, & families.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development.
  • A commitment to the Promising Principles of Propel Schools.
  • Inspired to perform well by the ability to contribute to the success of an education-based athletic program through the support and supervision of student-athletes and coaches.

Preferred:

  • Associates Degree in Sport Management or related field.
