Purpose of Role The Public Health Department seeks candidates for an exciting opportunity to shape and grow the MPH program. The program has recently been reconfigured with a focus on health equity and social justice and is poised to pursue CEPH accreditation. This opportunity will enable the successful candidate to help shape the direction of the community focused program. MPH courses are delivered in a late afternoon/ early evening format, and in a variety of online, hybrid, and face-to-face offerings. Two positions are available. Expertise sought for the first position is in community health education, program planning, and health disparities. The position will also include serving as the MPH practicum coordinator and helping to place students with established community partners that match students' interests. About This Opportunity Joining our Masters in Public Health team, the Associate/Assistant will be responsible for the following: Advise students, assist with supervising student practicum experiences and capstones, and promote the MPH mission and program objectives through participating in interdisciplinary public health initiatives that increase student engagement with communities and advance the field of public health. Involvement in scholarly activities including research and peer-reviewed journal and conference submission is expected. Experience with "active learning" in both an online and face to face modality. Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written, necessary to interact effectively with all university constituents. Strong time management/organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to work with students, faculty, staff, and all University administration. Demonstrated commitment to working with diverse populations. Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching. Required Qualifications Candidates will hold a doctoral degree (ABD considered) in community health, epidemiology, or another related discipline (e.g., social work), with a demonstrated expertise and interest in public health education. Significant public health work, graduate teaching experience, and involvement in community and/or global health activities are preferred.
