The Asset Locator, also known as a Skip Tracer, is responsible tracing and locating consumers and/or consumers' attachable assets in compliance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (F.D.C.P.A.). Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks: Traces whereabouts of consumers with the intention of finding a current address, utilizing both printed and on-line resources. Once a new address is located the Asset Locator requests the reissue of complaint. Locates and verifies employment/property ownership, requests property liens and wage garnishments as applicable Locates/verifies bank accounts and requests bank attachments. When there are no attachable assets the asset locator reviews the credit bureau trade lines to identify the creditor that a Subpoena for documentation should be sent to. Meets pre-determined monthly quotas, specific quality and volume requirements for designated activities. Analyzes issues, makes decisions and follows up with peers and management. Builds appropriate rapport, and establishes and maintains effective relationships with internal and external clients, gaining their trust and respect. Telephones possible consumer phone leads to verify right party and may transfer to Legal Account Resolution Specialists. Ensures accounts are updated with new information as it is obtained. Complete all required training applicable to assigned position. Additional duties as requested or required. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum 1-6 months relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Knowledge of office practices and procedures; computer operation; and internet research. Ability to type a minimum of 30 words per minute. Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form. Must pass background check and drug screen. Compensation and Benefits: $16.00/hr. Monthly bonus opportunities. Paid Time Off (PTO) - 16 days annually + 8 Company paid holidays.
