Asphalt Mill Machine Operator Position Overview

Spartan Paving is seeking a highly specialized skilled operator. This equipment operator will be skilled at using a milling machine to remove a depth of asphalt and occasionally concrete from pavement surfaces as well has pulverize existing pavement.

Asphalt Mill Machine Operator Responsibilities
  • Operate mill and other heavy equipment safely and appropriately in varied conditions and situations
  • Perform daily maintenance and safety checks, cleaning and greasing, etc.
  • Operate with a priority of job safety for all persons working around the equipment.
  • Communicate clearly with crew-members.
  • Work with the team to provide a fully prepared site for the paving crew.

Asphalt Mill Machine Operator Requirements
  • Advanced understanding of the milling and prep process.
  • 1+ year previous milling or asphalt crew experience is required.
  • General and applied knowledge of the paving process and proper procedures for quality finished work.
  • Must be dependable and show up for all assigned shifts.
  • Able and willing to work outdoors in extreme heat and cold for extended shifts
  • Willing to work nights, weekends, and overtime as required.
  • CDL-A is a definite plus, not required.
  • Must have reliable transportation in most cases.
