Suncor Energy has an established retail asphalt business sourced from our plants in Colorado. We are excited to look for someone who has commercial and/or asphalt experience, in order to help us sell asphalt cement (AC), polymer modified asphalt cements (PMAC) and emulsions in Colorado and surrounding markets. Minimum Requirements: Five years of commercial asphalt experience or commercial marketing experience A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) A comprehensive understanding of spot and term contracts, asphalt product quality specifications, and asphalt product distribution systems and networks Thorough understanding of asphalt contractor operations and business challenges Strong understanding of the asphalt competitive environment and the economic forces that influence the market Responsibilities: Negotiate term and spot contracts Manage relationships and schedule projects with the teams responsible for terminaling and producing AC, PMAC and Emulsions at our Colorado plants Manage sales delivery, pricing and contract administration Conduct general market analysis to assist in understanding market trends that support long- and short-term selling decisions Develop new customers, contracts, strategies, and processes in order to enhance market position and overall profitability Track agency budgets and develop marketing plans to optimize product offering to road maintenance and construction needs Foster strong relationships with contractors and agency customers Location and other Key Details: You will work out of Refinery Business Center in Commerce City, Colorado, located at 5455 Brighton Blvd. Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs Regular travel to local and regional customer and plant sites Salary and Compensation Details: $120,000 - $155,000 annual salary and an annual incentive program Great work/Life balance, including a generous vacation program Competitive benefits programs offering choice and flexibility Generous pension and 401(k) savings plans Why Suncor?
