Blythe Development, headquartered in Charlotte, NC, is a licensed general contractor specializing in site work, road construction and golf course construction in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia since 1989. Blythe Development's operations include clearing, grading, storm drainage, sanitary sewer, waterline, curb and gutter, sidewalk, concrete paving, retaining walls, culverts, bridges, stone base and asphalt paving. Blythe Brothers Asphalt Company provides the asphalt services for Blythe Development Co. Our large, experienced workforce enables Blythe Development to self-perform 80% of site groundwork, which gives them greater control than competitors who must subcontract the bulk of the job. Both Blythe Development and Blythe Brothers Asphalt are owned and operated by the Blythe brothers who collectively have over 80 years' experience in site work construction. Blythe Brothers Asphalt is actively seeking the following for our paving crews: Paver Operator Roller Operator Broom Tractor Operator Key Duties: Understand and execute paving procedures while following instructions to meet the standards of the project Daily maintenance of equipment to remain in proper and safe operation Ability to work as part of a team and following foreman's instructions to ensure schedules are met Flexibility with schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes Ability to follow traffic control instructions Properly follow all Company policies and procedures for safe working conditions Qualifications: Ability To enter and exist heavy machinery while maintaining three points of contact, awareness of surroundings and multi-limb coordination Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry heavy objects (over 50 lbs.) Must maintain constant alertness to to help ensure construction site safety Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Experienced candidates preferred, willing to train on specifics of machines.
