DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assembles, sets up, adjusts, maintains and repairs all types of construction equipment
  • Inspects and diagnoses machinery to determine need for and cost of repairs
  • Tests, installs new or repaired unit back into equipment
  • Performs minor tune ups to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the equipment
  • Understand system controls, operation, and configurations
  • Perform equipment diagnostics for electrical and mechanical repairs on various construction equipment such as CAT, Komatsu, Case, John Deere
  • Welding and fabrication for equipment repairs using various welding equipment such as MIG and ARC
  • Experienced with CAT ET and related equipment diagnostic systems
  • Create work and purchase orders for parts and materials required for equipment repairs
  • Notate all diagnostics and repairs
  • Communicate with operations and equipment personnel on all equipment deficiencies

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Strong math and analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to quickly process information and make decisions
  • Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks: organizational, problem-prevention and problem-solving skills
  • Dependable and able to work independently with little supervision as well as with a team of individuals
  • Ability to multitask and function well in a fast paced environment
  • Proficient with diagnostic systems such as CAT ET or related software
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of working on on various construction equipment such as CAT, Komatsu, Case, John Deere

  • Mechanical, welding, and electrical experience is required

  • Basic understanding of construction procedures, OSHA guidelines and construction equipment, including safe operating practices and signs of maintenance issues
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have reliable transportation with the ability to travel extensively
  • Must have the ability to work extended hours as required by the workload
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
