Position Summary
BGI is seeking part-time Army Vehicular Direct Fire Subject Matter Experts (SME) to assist in the evaluation and development of Lockheed Martin's Rotary Mission Systems (LM RMS) solution to a MILES replacement under the US Army's Direct-Fire (DF) and Ground Combat Vehicle (GCV) portion of the Synthetic Training Environment program for Live Training Systems (STE-LTS). Job objectives include preparing the product for Soldier Touch Point (STP) events and eventual down selection in the summer 2024 timeframe for Direct Fire and summer 2025 for Ground Combat Vehicle. Follow on SME work highly probable once LM RMS's solution is chosen for production and development. Specific duties include providing subject matter expertise on the Abrams Tank, Bradley Fightging Vehicle, and Stryker platforms, set up of valid training scenarios, product evaluation of training sessions, recommendations for improvement and interacting with US Army personnel at STP events. Ability to advise on Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System (MILES) use cases and lessons learned to include size, weight and power (SWAP), draw, PCC/PCI, new equipment training (NET), maintenance, turn-in and employment in a training environment. Candidate can expect to start on or about 1 May 2024 and work 10-20 hour a week. Some work can be performed remotely, but travel to Orlando, FL monthly is required. Potential to grow into a full-time opportunity as Other Transaction Authority (OTA) competes and is down selected and scope grows to other platforms and weapon systems on the battlefield.
Job Responsibilities
  • Help plan and support demonstrations of the LM RMS DF SIMRES/STE-LTS solution
  • Evaluate system and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Support requirements, training objectives and design reviews
  • Support government milestone events
  • Assist with the development of test plans
  • Plan and participate in testing events
Required and/or Preferred Qualifications
  • Operational infantry/armor/direct fire experience required
  • Master Gunner Certification highly desired
  • Minimum of E-7 experience in the US Army with background in 11 or 19 series required
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work with contractors/engineers on the project required
  • Support/Sustainment and Logistics background desired
  • Understanding of training effectiveness and analytics desired
  • Live within driving distance of Orlando, FL highly desired
  • Current active National Guard member or Reservist with the US Army desired
