Summary: The Area Director of Practice Operations is responsible for the daily operations/oversight of Florida Cancer Specialist & Research Institute (FCS) clinics in an assigned area. Is the liaison between administrative services and assigned area's clinics; and implements and ensures compliance with federal and state regulatory compliance programs and Company policies. The individual in this role supports the financial goals of the company by being fiscally responsible in all areas, including staffing and purchasing. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Works in collaboration with Vice President of Operations on business development initiatives and strategies. PRIMARY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Implements initiatives that effectively and efficiently support and meet clinic, division/regional, organizational, and regulatory goals and objectives through strong analytical capabilities, process improvement identification and implementation, and technology enhancements. Work closely with area and practice leadership to drive optimal clinical operations, excellent patient satisfaction, best practices and strategic growth initiatives. Mentors and leads team in implementing plans to support clinics in achieving best practice performance for quality patient care, as well as physician and employee engagement. Oversee and monitor the operations activities of multiple clinical practice sites in assigned division. Ensures adherence to the Company's Compliance Plan by all employees. Direct and evaluate the performance of FCS leadership/direct reports within the assigned division. Develop and deliver training in partnership with other departments and leaders for assigned division leaders. Overall, is responsible for ensuring completion of training for all areas that report to this position. Evaluate staffing levels and recommend adjustments to VP of Operations based on patient load. Develop, collaborate, and implement new approved policies, procedures, and special projects in clinic sites through the assigned division office leaders. Evaluate equipment needs for clinics and make recommendations to VP of Operations. Facilitate communications between central/support services and the clinics. Responsible for fiscal practice operations of all clinics in assigned area by developing and maintaining all operational unit budgets with prudence. Maintains strong understanding of operational metrics that impact financial performance. Manages individual physician relationships maintaining balance between organizational expectations and physician engagement. Communicates and informs to upline leadership and ensures that Office Management and physician leaders are kept informed. Ensure physician coverage at all times while patients are present in Company clinics. Works in collaboration with VP of Operations on business development initiative strategies, including prospecting, physician recruitment, and physician relations development. Oversee the personnel aspects of all the assigned division's clinics to include hiring, salary increase/adjustments, disciplinary actions, transfers, promotions, and terminations through appropriate and defined HR processes. Ensure the maintenance and upkeep of the assigned division's clinic buildings and grounds and all company equipment is monitored and maintained by the Office Managers in conjunction with the Facilities Department and Central Procurement Collaborate with office leadership to monitor clinic schedules to ensure optimization and proper scheduling practices across all service lines. Comply will all Federal and State laws and regulations pertaining to patient care, patients' rights, safety, billing, and collections. Adhere to all Company and departmental policies and procedures, including all assigned training. Maintain accessibility to employees and physicians so they may report any concerns and follow up on those concerns in a timely manner. Maintain and ensure the confidentiality of all sensitive information such as patient, employee, physician, or proprietary company information. Oversight of additional support areas, such as Call Centers and Float Team. Timely review and reporting of key performance indicators, including action plans to address any negative performance trends. Assist with the facilitation of numerous activities and initiatives across central service lines. Ensure Facility/Physical Plant is up to standards for patient safety and experience purposes. Project a favorable image of the company to promote its mission, vision, and values, and foster positivity, both internally and externally. Lead new facility/facility expansion plans and ensure approval through appropriate Capital Committee process Perform other duties and projects as assigned. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES Bachelor's Degree in business or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of seven (7) years experience in healthcare setting. Minimum of five (5) years management experience in a multi-site healthcare setting managing practice/clinic operations, including physician relations experience and business development. Oncology, start up and business development experience preferred. Demonstrated understanding and working knowledge of physician/vendor contracts and applicable regulatory requirements at a local, state, and federal level related to practice management. Experience in an EMR system, HRIS, Practice Management Solution, Microsoft Systems, etc. required.
