Description: Markon Solutions is creating a team of three engineers to provide Construction Management support to the VA Medical Center in Canandaigua, NY, valued at over $500M. The team will support construction and renovation at the Outpatient Clinic, Community Living Center, and Domiciliary. Members of the team will be responsible for: Assisting the Senior Resident Engineer and Resident Engineer staff in monitoring and inspecting construction activities;
Reviewing contractor submittals;
Responding to requests for information;
Inspecting the site work;
Providing weekly reporting on project status;
Coordinating and communicating project needs.
Job Requirements
Requirements: Markon is seeking an Architect with experience reviewing design and construction plans for review against existing site conditions, resolution of unforeseen site problems, and proposal of cost effective technical solutions. Successful candidates for this position will possess the following: 10 years experience practicing architecture, or 5 years experience working in the state of New York;
Experience in commercial hospital construction;
Experience in planning and conducting inspections and inventories of commercial grade medical and administrative service structures; Knowledge of industry standards, including the Uniform Building Code, Life Safety Code, Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and OSHA and ASTM standards;
Experience conducting site inspections; and
Ability to provide cost estimates and take-offs for contract modifications.
