AR- Medical Billing Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced AR- Medical Billing Specialist to join our client's growing healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing, coding, and insurance claim processing. The AR- Medical Billing Specialist will be responsible for accurately and efficiently submitting claims to insurance companies, resolving billing issues, and ensuring timely reimbursement for medical services rendered.

Responsibilities of the AR- Medical Billing Specialist

  Billing and Coding:

  
  
  
  
  • Assign appropriate codes to medical procedures and diagnoses.
  
  
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of claims to insurance companies.
  
  
  • Review and verify patient information for completeness and accuracy.
  
  
  
  


• 
  

  Insurance Claims:

  
  
  
  
  • Monitor the status of insurance claims and follow up on any delays or denials.
  
  
  • Identify and resolve billing discrepancies and issues.
  
  
  • Work closely with insurance companies to resolve claim rejections or disputes.
  
  
  
  


• 
  

  Patient Billing:

  
  
  
  
  • Generate patient statements and invoices.
  
  
  • Provide assistance to patients regarding billing inquiries and payment plans.
  
  
  • Process and post payments received from patients and insurance companies.

  Documentation and Record Keeping:

  
  
  
  
  • Maintain accurate and organized billing records.
  
  
  • Document all interactions and communications related to billing activities.
  
  
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and billing guidelines.

  • Collaborate with internal departments, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to resolve billing issues.
  
  
  • Keep abreast of changes in healthcare regulations and coding guidelines.
  
  
  
  

Requirements of the AR- Medical Billing Specialist

• Proven at least 5 years of experience in medical billing and coding.


• Familiarity with healthcare insurance procedures and regulations.


• Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) certification is highly desirable.


• Strong understanding of medical terminology, CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding systems.


• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in all aspects of the billing process.


• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.


• Knowledge of billing regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.

Compensation of the AR- Medical Billing Specialist

• $18-21/hour, depending on experience
