Are you an experienced AR/Collections Specialist seeking an exciting opportunity with a privately-held company in Laurel, MD? Our client is actively looking for a dedicated professional to join their finance team and contribute to the success of their growing organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • As an AR/Collections Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in managing the accounts receivable and collections processes for our client.
  • Leverage your 2-3+ years of collections experience to monitor and maintain outstanding balances.
  • Engage in effective communication with clients to ensure timely payments and resolution of billing discrepancies.
  • Utilize analytical skills to assess and resolve payment issues, contributing to a healthy financial ecosystem for our client.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collection activities.
  • Research and processes customer claims of invoice payment.
  • Research and processes charge backs, returns, and NSF items.
  • Answers AR phone/email inquiries and follows up.
  • Under the direction of the Credit Manager provides guidance, as required, to the cash applications team for proper application of customer payment(s).

Qualifications:

  • AA degree preferred, but open on relevant experience
  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience in collections and accounts receivable.
  • In-depth knowledge of collections best practices and compliance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills for effective client communication.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
