An Apprentice Plumber job is available with the City of Fort Worth Property Management Department. Minimum Qualifications: A High School Diploma or GED, State of Texas Apprentice Plumber License, and 2 years verifiable plumbing experience or related field. Candidates must possess a valid Class "C" driver's license and an acceptable driving record. Must pass Drug Screen, Physical The Apprentice Plumber job responsibilities include: This position requires driving to facilities throughout the City to participate in all phases of rough and finish plumbing work involved in construction, alteration, repair and maintenance Install plumbing equipment such as pumps and water heaters Repair or replace water, vent, and sanitation lines, clean sewer lines, repair and replace leaky faucets, urinals, sinks and commodes Other duties may be assigned such as assisting other trades making repairs not associated with plumbing. WORKING CONDITIONS Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting; depending on assignment. Incumbents may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, intense noises, gases, vibrations, chemicals, oils and workspace restrictions. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Heavy Work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects. Working Conditions Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class.
