GoEngineer's advanced simulation team is expanding. The engineer's goal is to become an expert in SIMULIA software including fluids, structures, acoustics, and multi-body dynamics. The engineer will be responsible for the support, training, and pre/post sales activities of GoEngineer customers with advanced analysis programs such as Abaqus, 3DEXPERIENCE platform, and PowerFlow.
Primary responsibilities include product presentations, instruction, customer service, mentoring and analysis services, and creative content creation.
GoEngineer is looking for an outgoing mechanical engineer who would love to be involved in the reseller community. This is a Western-US based position. Requirements:
Sales Support
- Support company sales efforts by conducting demonstrations and presentations to customers and prospective customers.
- Provide technical assistance to sales personnel for customer meetings helping them understand product goals and placement.
- Develop and deliver demonstrations and presentations comfortably to anyone in a company hierarchy from a draftsman to the CEO or business owner.
- Assist sales personnel in the qualifying prospective customers, determining critical business issues, and product positioning.
- Create technical content for marketing such as blogs, white papers, information for user groups, newsletters and conferences.
- Represent GoEngineer at customer and industry events.
- Run/perform/speak to:
- 3DEXPERIENCE simulation tools - structures, fluids, multibody dynamics, optimization, and DOE
- Other SIMULIA stand-alone solvers, especially ABAQUS
- Multi-body dynamics
- Material characterization - rubbers/composites/plastics/metals
- Non-linear and linear static analysis
- Vibration and acoustics
- Fluids - compressible and incompressible
- Thermal analysis
- Fluid structural interaction (solver coupling)
Consultative Services
- Perform consultative work with sincere efforts toward quality, timeliness, and customer satisfaction.
- Derive solutions and recommendations to improve the mechanical characteristics of our customer's products and advance their level of design and simulation needs.
- Develop appropriate FE solutions, validate calculations and/or physical test results, establish optimization loops to improve weight, cost, performance
- Establish appropriate scope and timing estimates during project quotation phase
- Direct customers needing support: discuss and answer questions, develop example FE models and solutions, provide training
- Ability to communicate complex engineering topics to design teams, ability to communicate at a high level with other advanced simulation specialists
- Provide mentoring and technical training to users ranging from introductory material through high end, advanced analysis methodologies. Typically virtual, but mentoring may be at customer facilities or GoEngineer offices where travel may be required.
Technical Support
- Provide rapid response technical support for a wide variety of customers in many disciplines and industries.
- Troubleshoot complex modeling, configuration, and system issues.
- Document and follow up with customer issues to complete resolution.
Must-Have Requirements (Experience, Skills, Education)
- Master of Science degree with CAE coursework, or equivalent job experience/credentials OR Bachelor of Science and several years of experience with CAE tools.
- Proficient-to-Intermediate with SIMULIA's Abaqus or PowerFLOW. Or, equivalent experience with ANSYS Mechanical, or ANSYS FLUENT.
- Proficient-to-Intermediate with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Skills and Requirements
- Intermediate skills with public speaking / oral presentations
- Travel willingness
- Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and accomplish tasks, and adapt to changing environments
- Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent customer relations skills
- Friendly, helpful attitude
- Possess excellent problem definition and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of SOLIDWORKS CAD, FEA, or CFD experience is a significant plus
Position Hours & Location: This can be an in-office, hybrid or remote position, with typically office hours of 8-5 M-F. Some light travel is possible for client visits, trainings, and company events.
