Job Details Position Summary: The Department of Vascular Surgery at St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Physician Assistant Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in vascular surgery and possess exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills. This role will primarily involve assisting in various aspects of vascular services, including: Managing a team of advanced practice providers Supporting our on-boarding and educational program Bedside rounding, patient management, consultations Operating room procedures - first and second assist Assigned to the on-call schedule. Key Responsibilities: Management Responsibilities: - Provide leadership and direction to the vascular services team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. - Participate in the recruitment, training, and onboarding of new staff members, ensuring that they receive comprehensive orientation and ongoing mentorship. - Facilitate regular team meetings and educational sessions to promote knowledge sharing, quality improvement initiatives, and best practices in patient care. - Act as a liaison between the vascular surgery department and other departments within the hospital, promoting effective communication and interdisciplinary collaboration. - Collaborate with hospital administration and clinical leadership to develop and implement policies, protocols, and quality improvement initiatives related to vascular services. - Monitor and evaluate the performance of the vascular services team, providing constructive feedback and recognition as appropriate. - Identify opportunities for process improvement and workflow optimization, working closely with stakeholders to implement changes that enhance efficiency and patient satisfaction. - Serve as a resource for resolving complex patient care issues and addressing concerns raised by patients, families, or staff members. - Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and institutional policies related to vascular surgery and patient care. - Participate in quality assurance activities, including performance reviews, peer review processes, and clinical audits, to maintain high standards of care and patient safety. - Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development, encouraging staff members to pursue advanced certifications, specialty training, and career advancement opportunities. - Act as an advocate for patients and their families, ensuring that their voices are heard and their needs are addressed throughout their healthcare journey. - Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and compassion in all interactions with patients, colleagues, and other members of the healthcare team. By incorporating these additional leadership and management responsibilities, the Physician Assistant Coordinator for Vascular Services will play a crucial role in promoting a culture of excellence, innovation, and teamwork within the department, ultimately contributing to improved patient outcomes and satisfaction.- Collaborate with the vascular surgery team to provide comprehensive patient care across multiple settings, including preoperative assessment, intraoperative assistance, and postoperative follow-up. Qualifications: - Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program. - Current certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). - New York State licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physician Assistant. - Prior experience in vascular surgery required (minimum 5 years - including endovascular experience) - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team. - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. - Demonstrated commitment to delivering patient-centered care with compassion and empathy. - Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other healthcare technology platforms.
