CFS Indianapolis is partnering with a leading construction firm specializing in commercial projects. As they continue to grow, our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join their finance team.
Position Overview: The Accounts Payable Specialist will play a vital role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments. This individual will collaborate closely with internal departments, vendors, and subcontractors to maintain strong vendor relationships and uphold financial integrity within the organization.
Responsibilities: - Invoice Processing: Receive, review, and process invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Coding and Data Entry: Assign appropriate general ledger codes to invoices and enter invoice data into the accounting system with a high level of accuracy.
- Vendor Management: Communicate effectively with vendors and subcontractors regarding invoice discrepancies, payment inquiries, and resolution of payment issues in a timely manner.
- Payment Processing: Prepare and process payment batches, including checks, ACH transfers, and wire transfers, ensuring compliance with payment terms and deadlines.
- Expense Reconciliation: Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies to ensure accurate accounts payable records.
- Month-End Close: Assist in month-end closing activities, including accruals, account reconciliations, and reporting as necessary.
- Compliance and Documentation: Maintain proper documentation and filing systems for invoices, payments, and vendor correspondence to support audit
Qualifications: - 3+ years of accounts payable experience required.
- Knowledge of construction accounting principles and experience with construction project billing is a plus.
