AP ACCOUNTANT
I am with an accounting search firm, and I am working with a wonderful organization in the area, looking to hire an AP Accountant. This role offers the chance to impact their mission.
OVERVIEW OF THE AP ACCOUNTANT ROLE:
- Process invoices for payment, ensuring accurate budget coding.
- Manage accounts payable using Sage and PN3, while cultivating vendor relationships.
- AP Accountant ensures timely and accurate payment of bills in accordance with departmental procedures.
- Handle Amex receipts, ensuring proper coding.
- Prepare monthly budget reports, collaborating with budget managers for review.
- AP Accountant assists in producing 1099 forms and donor financial reports for grants.
- Support the Senior Director of Finance in grant reconciliation.
- Handle corporate credit card administration, including monthly reconciliation.
- Establish and manage employee accounts for supplier relationships.
- Aid the Controller in maintaining chart of accounts within PN3.
- AP Accountant supports audit procedures as needed.
- Act as a backup for accounting team members when necessary.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR AP ACCOUNTANT ROLE:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Accounts Payable with similar duties.
- Proficiency in Excel and MS Office.
- Experience with Federal Grants and Contracts.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Familiarity with non-profit accounting and fiscal reporting.
- Ability to process accounting transactions accurately.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
