Key Responsibilities: Specimen Collection: Perform specimen collection procedures following established protocols and standards. This includes urine collection and other methods as required. Patient Interaction: Interact with patients in a professional and compassionate manner to explain procedures, alleviate concerns, and ensure patient comfort during specimen collection. Labeling and Documentation: Accurately label specimens with patient information and ensure proper documentation of collection details, including date, time, and type of specimen. Maintaining Cleanliness and Sterility: Maintain cleanliness and sterility of collection equipment and work area to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain inventory of collection supplies, ensuring an adequate stock of materials is available at all times. Quality Control: Participate in quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of collected specimens, including performing proficiency testing and adhering to quality assurance protocols. Compliance: Adhere to all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures governing specimen collection, including HIPAA regulations and laboratory safety guidelines. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a medical or healthcare setting is a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle patient inquiries and concerns with empathy. Proficient in basic computer skills (MS Office, electronic health records, etc.) Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
