Posting Number: -NC Position Type: Faculty Pools Position Title: Anatomy and Physiology (Faculty Pool), Employment Requirement Not Applicable Division/Department: Biological Sciences Location Job Summary: "This is a pooled position and applicants will be hired throughout the academic year." The Biological Sciences Department at LBCC offers courses in human anatomy and physiology and cell biology for health occupations, which are designed to prepare students for careers in human health occupations. The anatomy and physiology instructor must develop, plan, and present organized lectures, laboratory activities, and out of class assignments in accordance with approved course outlines. Required Qualifications: Master of Science degree in the biological sciences with emphasis in the subject area of vertebrate anatomy and physiology, (including a minimum of one full year sequence of coursework in anatomy and physiology); or a minimum of 27 graduate quarter hours in biology, with significant course work in vertebrate anatomy, physiology, endocrinology, immunology, histology or neurology and with emphasis on the human body. Preferred Qualifications: Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Essential Duties: Applicants must possess a combination of academic preparation and professional experience that demonstrates the ability to: Impart excitement and enthusiasm into the teaching of anatomy and physiology. Follow course schedules and syllabi agreed upon by the biological sciences department. Plan, develop, and deliver classroom lectures and activities as well as write tests and develop other methods to evaluate student progress and competence. Adapt or modify laboratory exercises which students will find engaging and relevant. Assure that lab equipment is properly used and verify that all equipment is present at the end of each laboratory section. Work effectively with students and staff of various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and ages and successfully interact with supervisors, colleagues, and staff as part of an education team. Communicate effectively in oral and written English. Keep accurate grade and attendance records. Maintain regular office hours.
