Aircraft Overhaul Supervisor with Security Clearance

Duties The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) Aircraft Maintenance Unit (AMU) Chief, exercising technical and administrative supervision over subordinate supervisors and workers engaged in ground handling, servicing, inspection, condition evaluation, test and repair of assigned and transient aircraft in an integrated environment. To train reservists in the duties and responsibilities set forth herein. DUTIES: Duty 1 - Performs work planning responsibilities. Plans on a quarterly or longer basis the overall use of personnel and other resources in a SGF controlled through one or more levels of supervision. Duty 2 - Performs work direction responsibilities. Assigns and explains work requirements and operating instructions to subordinate supervisors, sets deadlines and establishes the sequence of work operations to be followed. Duty 3 - Performs administrative responsibilities. Participates with/through 2-3 levels of supervisors/employees involved in the maintenance production of a range of occupations. Comprehensive knowledge of assigned weapon systems including airframes, aircraft systems, and the interrelationships among systems and aircraft power plants, needed to make various operational checks and verify established performance limits. OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS: This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. The incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Work schedule will be aligned to allow incumbent to fully participate in Unit Training Assemblies (UTA). The incumbent's regular assignments are ART duties; however, the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities May be required to fly in commercial and military aircraft to perform temporary/permanent duty assignments. The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license may be required for the position. Performs other related duties as assigned. FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Moderate carrying (15-44 lbs). Reaching above shoulder. Use of fingers. Both hands required. Hours of walking are 4 hours per week. Hours of standing are 10 hours per week. Hours of repeated bending are 1 hours per week. Climbing, use of legs and arms. Both legs required. Ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously. Near vision correctable at 13 inches to 16 inches to Jaeger 1 to 4. Far vision correctable in one eye to 20/20 and 20/40 in the other. Both eyes required. Depth perception. Ability to distinguish basic colors. Hearing (with aid). ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Outside and inside (other than normal commuting). Excessive noise, intermittent. Electrical energy.
