Duties The primary purpose of this position is: The primary purpose of this position is: to serve as an Air reserve Technician (ART) Squadron Superintendent for either Aircraft Generation (AGS), Component Repair (CRS), Equipment Maintenance (EMS) or Maintenance (MXS). In this capacity, exercises technical and administrative supervision over subordinate supervisors and workers in accomplishing the total aircraft inspections, troubleshooting, repair modification, jacking and total engine run of aircraft to an in-commission status (to include preflight) in an integrated environment as well as to train reservists in the duties and responsibilities set forth herein. Position may function as the Chief and/or as the Reserve Work Center Supervisor (a secondary position supporting as AMC or ACC assigned Active Duty or Civilian Work Center Supervisor.) Duties: 1: Performs work planning responsibilities. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. The screen out element for this position is the ability to lead or supervise as an Aircraft Overhaul Supervisor. JOB ELEMENTS: Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1: Knowledge of a wide range of principles, processes, and techniques of trade(s) and/or craft(s) supervised. Ability to plan and organize work assignments to include determining resources required to accomplish mission. 5: Ability to manage overall direction and coordination of subordinate work activities and functions an implement sound personnel policies, practices, and procedures through subordinate supervisors. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. 6: Comprehensive knowledge of assigned weapon systems including airframes, aircraft systems, and the interrelationships among systems and aircraft power plants, needed to make various operational checks an verify established performance limits. OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS: 1: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. 2: Maybe required to fly in commercial and/or military aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments. 3: The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license may be required for the position. 4: Performs other related duties as assigned. 5: This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. The incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Work schedule will be aligned to allow incumbent to fully participate in UTAs. The incumbent's regular assignments are ART duties; however, the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities. 6: This is a testing designated position (TDP). The employee is subject to random drug testing. FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Moderate carrying (15-44 lbs.). Reaching above shoulder. Use of fingers. Both hands required. Hours of walking are 4 hours per week. Hours of standing are IO hours per week. Hours of repeated bending are I hours per week. Climbing, use of legs and arms. Both legs required. Ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously. Near vision correctable at 13 inches to 16 inches to Jaeger I to 4. Far vision correctable in one eye to 20/20 and 20/40 in the other. Both eyes required. Depth perception. Ability to distinguish basic colors. Hearing (with aid). ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Outside and inside (other than normal commuting). Excessive noise, intermittent. Electrical energy. Slippery or uneven walking surface. Working around machinery with moving parts. Working closely with others. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
