We are looking for an Agronomist to help farmers meet the future demands of growing crops in Madison, Nebraska. Do you have a passion about growing plants, helping people, and solving problems? This might be a great next career move for you. We are open to candidates with prior crop consulting, farm experience, or agronomic sales backgrounds.

Work for a family-owned operation that has been in business for 30 years. We re growing and hiring a full-time agronomist to work closely with farmers as their trusted consultant throughout the growing season. You will be in a hand-on role walking fields, scouting, soil sampling, and working alongside farmers to make nutrient management plans specific for their operations.

Qualifications

•   Degree in Agronomy, Crop & Soil Science, or equivalent experience

•   Outgoing personality

Job Responsibilities

•   Conducting field visits according to company standards

•   Responsible for in-season scouting and weekly reporting to look for signs of insect, weed, nutrient, and moisture stress affecting the crop.

•   Responsible for pulling grid and zone soil samples in the fall and spring.

•   Communicate in a manner that is helpful, hopeful and acts in the best interests of the customer.

•   Responsible for collecting and analyzing samples to recommend solutions.

•   Prepare and develop accurate nutrient management plans.
