Job Title: Chemical Operator (Blender)

Duration: 3 Months (Possible conversion)

Location: 12722 S. Wentworth Ave. Chicago, IL 60628

Shift:

First 2 working weeks Monday - Friday 6A-2:30P

Remainder of their ninety days Monday-Friday 4:30A-3P

From there they would transition to the Monday-Friday 3P-1:30A.

Job Overview:

The Blending Technician is responsible for filling specialty products into compressed and liquefied gas cylinders in compliance with state, federal, and local regulations.

The associate is expected to meet all company safety standards, while filling, handling, storing, loading and unloading cylinders.

Responsible for remaining productive during their work shift, while also supporting the product quality standards set forth by company.

A Blending Technician displays a knowledge of pure gas filling process, gravimetric blending, partial pressure blending, product purification techniques, and ability to troubleshoot production issues; regularly inspects cylinder fill equipment and performs minor maintenance,

Responsibilities and Duties:

Performs all job assignments in a safe manner according to copmany SOPs.

Performs all required pre-fill and post-fill inspections on cylinders and/ or trailers.

Scraping, labeling, and painting of cylinders.

Regularly moves cylinders by usage of a cylinder cart and/ or forklift.

Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic equipment maintenance.

Perform routine calibration on production and analytical equipment.

Completes daily fill sheets and cylinder filling records accurately, legibly, and timely.

Operation of vacuum pumps, cryogenic pumps, booster pumps and compressors.

Operation of production equipment including manual and automated systems.

Offloading of cryogenic materials, cascade, and cold cylinder/cold coil transfer filling.

Production planning and prioritizing.

Perform mathematical calculations.

Keep a clean, safe and orderly work area

Performs other duties or projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Associates degree in chemistry or related science and 3 years relevant experience.

Ability to read and comprehend Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

Ability to coordinate efforts with multiple departments.

Aptitude for high precision work.

Ability to perform the essential functions of the Blending Technician position.

Ability to work with others in a team environment to meet the facilities goals.

Ability to operate forklift and maintain forklift certifications.

Ability to follow directions, make decisions, work as a team, and be reliable.

Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) or equivalent software.

IE SAP Experience, Excel Knowledge, Any Certifications, Years of Experience in Certain Fields): Strong Math Skills and Technical/Mechanical Skills.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to work all shifts; subject to all weather conditions.

Safety glasses, metatarsal boots, leather gloves, FRC uniform. Facility provides all.
